Avalon Project

Avalon Pool Deck & Landscaping

David Jesse, the designer from The Landscape Company asked Living Spaces Carpentry to quote for a carpentry job in Avalon. The design brief was for a pool, decking, privacy screen and landscaping at the rear of the Avalon property.

Jason set out to quote the carpentry component and looked forward to working in Avalon, a beautiful suburb on the northern beaches of Sydney nestled between a top surf beach and beautiful Pittwater.

Upon reaching the site, Jason met the client, Michael who was friendly & easy to work with, generally just a really great bloke. The site was sloping with the driveway and gorgeous Hampton style home situated below the road. Surprisingly access to the work site at the rear of the property was relatively easy.

The scope for the quote was to install a Spotted Gum deck at one end of a newly constructed pool with a privacy screen to match. Within a couple of days, Jason provided a detailed quote at the right price and subsequently won the job.

When our work commenced, Jason arrived to find the rectangular concrete pool constructed and being laid with striking blue tiles.  The finish on the pool was fantastic, a real tribute to Pride Pools.

Urban Botanic Landscapes had commenced the landscaping work involving retaining walls, & multiple steps in preparation for the planting of an amazing mix of shrubs and trees. The challenge in the design was to come up with a planting mix that reflected the unusual mix of lush sub tropical vegetation and coastal forest natural to the area.

Living Spaces Carpentry began carpentry work on the pool deck using Spotted Gum Boards. Spotted Gum is a popular choice in decking timber as its colour can range from light brown through to rich deep red- browns.  It is highly durable and is termite and rot resistant.

The deck was extended to cater for an outdoor shower with screen and a glass balustrade continued from the pool paving. Underneath the deck was a pool pump house which was screened with Spotted Gum decking, including access doors and mini orb roofing was installed.

It took a little under 2 weeks for Living Spaces carpentry to complete the carpentry components of the job and the result was fantastic – check out the fabulous photos sent to us from our very lovely client Michael.
